High quality waterproofing with Nano-Care

waterproofing in everyday life? Usually come to mind when it’s too late. In rain, storm and sleet. When the clothes, boots and jackets are soaking wet. If you belong to the nature lovers, you are probably even more familiar with this topic. If you are looking forward to your vacation at the campsite for months, you hope for good weather with lots of sunshine. If it rains for days on end during your well-deserved vacation, life in the tent becomes a nuisance. Especially if it rains through in some places in the tent.

Let the frustration roll off

The motto is to take precautions in good time. Experienced campers take meticulous care to ensure that their canvas villa is freshly impregnated before departure and check the result before starting their vacation. They set up the tent in the garden or in the yard and check it during a country rain or under the garden hose. If the impregnated fabric has passed the endurance test to their satisfaction, the tent is thoroughly dried before being neatly folded and stored in the trunk.

Basically, everyone knows that waterproofing plays an important role in all outdoor activities. Hiking boots, jacket and backpack must be waterproof so as not to be dependent on the weather god during longer tours. Cyclists, climbers and anglers place similar demands on their clothing and equipment.

waterproofing

for big city Indians
Even if you rarely leave the big city, you probably use waterproofed things more often than you realize. Textile shoes or boots made of leather, which you wear in the office or in the evening on the way to the cinema or disco, should be largely waterproof. Who wants to sit out for hours with wet shoes and socks and risk catching a cold?

Umbrella, anorak, school satchel or backpack – these and many other items we use day after day are made of materials that are water-permeable in their original state. To keep moisture and dirt out, in most cases they are already impregnated by the manufacturer. Externally, this layer is barely visible. Through daily use and regular cleaning, the protective layer gradually becomes thinner, shows gaps and is thus ineffective.

What you get? Quality like dry cloths

Jackets for the way to the office or to university are often impregnated by the manufacturer. The water-repellent layer is indispensable for functional clothing for various outdoor activities: trekking, hiking or mountaineering.

If the jacket or pants are permanently impregnated, they cannot become waterlogged even in heavy rain. The clothing remains light, warm and always offers the necessary freedom of movement.

High-quality clothing is provided by the manufacturer with DWR-waterproofing. DWR is the abbreviation for ‘durable water repellent’. Unfortunately, even such a high-quality waterproofing is not as durable as the name promises. Your textile will be as water repellent as on the first day with Nano-Care.

Possible applications

Whether you impregnate jackets, wood, leather, concrete or natural stones with a spray or by washing waterproof, depends on the material used. For example, lined jackets and membranes without pores can be impregnated well by means of a spray. Membranes with micropores can be treated both with a waterproofing spray, but also in the washing machine. It is important that you follow the care instructions of the respective manufacturer. Then, after successful waterproofing, the water beads off the jacket or pants again and the climate in the clothing remains comfortable.

Through the high-quality waterproofing of Nano-Care you can rely on a waterproof clothing. Also through our waterproofing for leather, this stays young longer and you save expensive creams.

Even in your outdoor area you can use our waterproofing.

Your advantages at a glance

The leather shoe is the classic. Leather demonstrates a sense of style and is very hard-wearing. The disadvantage: leather is naturally water-permeable, in fact it even attracts water (hydrophilic). If leather is tanned, not all pores are sealed. Especially since shoes are all about breathability. An advantage that becomes a nuisance in wind and weather. The waterproofing gives leather a water-repellent function. Hydrophilic becomes hydrophobic. When it rains, spherical drops form and the water rolls off.

  • Leather becomes water-repellent – waterproofing is invaluable, especially for suede.
  • Water is often also a carrier of dirt; impurities do not penetrate into the leather after a waterproofing
  • The waterproof preserves the color and prolongs the durability of the leather

Everything tight up there?

If you are the proud owner of a convertible, you should include the protective roof of your vehicle in your regular care. Whether the roof should be impregnated at certain intervals depends on the material used. Modern convertible tops are made of plastics that can easily withstand a trip through the automatic car wash.

The use of high-pressure jets is taboo. Instead, you should clean the roof by hand with a soft brush if bird droppings or other aggressive dirt need to be removed. Textile canopies must be re-impregnated from time to time.

Water fight and rain run

More and more people are wearing shoes made of textile materials for sports, leisure and everyday wear. These shoes have excellent usage properties, but must be carefully impregnated to make them waterproof from the outside. At the same time, breathability must be ensured so that perspiration is reliably wicked away. Membranes have been developed to resolve this conflict, and many shoe models are already equipped with them today. The attractive appearance and waterproofness of these shoes are also provided by waterproofing agents such as Nanoflex THD, Tex2 or L-Care

Effective oxidation protection

Modern satchels are also made of high-quality textile materials. These materials are characterized by a low weight and yet are extremely robust and hard-wearing.
Parents look more at the usage properties and also check how easy it is to care for the satchel or school backpack. This is entirely justified, because these utensils have to withstand some stress. If the surfaces are carefully impregnated, notebooks and books will still stay dry.

waterproofing

on wood and stone
Natural stones have charm and enjoy great popularity. Unfortunately, the surfaces of natural stones are quickly porous and thus susceptible to staining. A significant improvement can be achieved by using waterproof. Compared to a complete sealing of the surface, waterproof with Nanoflex AG 1-4 or Nanoflex TPM has the advantage that moisture can be absorbed and released again to a limited extent. This has a positive effect on the room climate.

Whether wooden stairs, benches or garden tables. Moisture penetration is a major hazard for wood. Inside, wood swells and cracks can develop. In addition, there is a risk of mold and fungal attack in the long term.

The waterproofing is a process in which porous materials are impregnated or coated with a suitable agent. Porous materials that can be impregnated include, for example, textiles, paper, wood, leather, concrete or natural stone. As you can see, it’s about more than just the outdoors. The aim of this treatment is to change the properties of the materials in such a way that they become more water-repellent, last longer and require less maintenance.

Waterproof

means profit
What are the advantages of using waterproofing agents to care for and preserve everyday objects?

  • waterproof means textile finishing. The hydrophobic effect makes you and your clothes weatherproof. Water simply rolls off you.
  • Leather stays young longer. The water flees here, too, and you save yourself expensive creams.
  • Even stones benefit. Against weathering and pollution impregnated surfaces are from now on immune.

These questions are often asked about waterproofing.

Shoes made of suede (colloquially also called suede shoes) look chic and are characterized by a pleasant feel. To maintain the attractive appearance for a long time, this material requires careful care. Do not apply shoe cream under any circumstances! The product of choice is a special waterproofing spray for suede leather. It cares for and impregnates the shoes at the same time.

Colloquially is spoken of waterproof, if on articles of clothing, shoes, tents, convertible roofs or natural stones waterproofing agents are applied. The aim of this treatment is to improve the use properties of the articles. In most, spray or care products are intended to ensure that the surface becomes dirty less quickly and repels water.

An impregnating layer protects textiles, leather or other materials from environmental influences. In this way it is possible to achieve that rain water rolls off the surface and does not penetrate into textiles or leather. Protection against soiling also plays a role in many applications (convertibles, shoes, tents) at waterproof. Recent developments include highly effective waterproofing agents, which is used to provide UV protection to weatherproof textiles (awnings, sun sails, parasols and tents).

Shoes, clothing, tents and other everyday items need regular and good care. This includes from time to time a waterproofing. However, to save costs and time, you should not overdo it. If you are unsure whether a part would need to be impregnated, do a simple test. Put a drop of water on the material. If the drop beads off, the surface is still adequately protected.

Be careful with shoes made of patent leather and imitation leather. To be on the safe side, you should first try the waterproofing spray on a small, invisible area of a shoe.

With Wash-Ins (waterproofing agents, which are put in the washing machine) waterproof you can wash a jacket with minimal work and time. However, in order not to compromise breathability, it is more advantageous to work with a spray.

The drying time depends on the composition and thickness of the application. Most agents contain chains of molecules that align under the influence of heat. If the impregnating effect wears off after frequent washing of a garment, the protective layer may be reactivated in the tumble dryer or by using an iron or hair dryer because of the effect mentioned above. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s care instructions!

Common ways of protection

waterproofing spray

Most often spray is used for maintenance and refreshing the protective layer. In principle, waterproofing sprays work like other propellant sprays, which are used, for example, in the field of cosmetics or household cleaning for many years. These products have the advantage that they are really uncomplicated to use and the applied waterproofing agents dries very quickly after application. One press on the spray head is sufficient to create a fine mist. When applying, make sure that the waterproofing spray is evenly distributed over the entire surface
[su_expand more_text=”Show more” less_text=”Show less” height=”100″ hide_less=”no” text_color=”#333333″ link_color=”#0088FF” link_style=”default” link_align=”left” more_icon=”” less_icon=”” class=””]

Pump Spray

Occasionally impregnators are also offered as a liquid. As a rule, these are then filled into a pump spray bottle. The liquid is pressed through a nozzle by hand, so that the liquid is finely atomized and can be applied evenly to the surface to be impregnated.

Spray foam

These agents are suitable above all for smaller things with smooth surfaces, such as bags. In contrast to the classic spray, no mist is produced, but a foam. To distribute this foam as evenly as possible, it is recommended to use a small sponge.

Wash-Ins

Even easier than waterproofing spray is the care with modern Wash-Ins. These agents are particularly suitable for clothing. The waterproofing agents is placed in the compartment for fabric softener before starting the washing machine. After washing and rinsing, the agent is evenly distributed over the entire garment. This allows even the areas waterproof, which are hardly hit with a spray. The disadvantage is that the lining fabric is also impregnated. This reduces the breathability of the jacket or coat.

Which technology is used in a particular case usually depends on the size of the item and the nature of the surface. For large items such as a tent, awning, sunshade or convertible top, a spray proves to be practical. For shoes made of leather or textile materials, spray is also recommended because even hard-to-reach grooves can be easily treated with the fine mist. For bags and suitcases, a spray foam is recommended. Jackets, coats and pants for outdoor activities can be quickly and with minimal effort in the washing machine waterproof. If the breathability of these clothes should not be affected, a spray is preferable. [/su_expand]
