Step-by-step instructions for sealing your rims
Applying a ceramic coating / ceramic sealant to rims requires care and precision in order to achieve optimum results. It can either be carried out by a specialist or by yourself after thorough training. Careful preparation and precise adherence to the application steps are essential.
Preparation of the rims
1st cleaning: Clean the rims thoroughly with a mild cleaner and lukewarm water to remove dirt, brake dust and old sealant residue.
2. drying: Dry the rims completely with a clean microfiber cloth.
3. surface treatment: Remove unevenness and minor scratches with a polish and abrasive paste. Then degrease the surface to ensure optimum adhesion of the sealant.
4.protective measures: Observe the safety precautions in the safety data sheet.
Applying the ceramic coating / ceramic sealant
5th application: Apply the sealant evenly to the rim using an applicator pad or a microfiber cloth in circular movements.
6 Application time: Allow the coating to take effect for 2 to 3 minutes.
7. polishing in: Polish in the sealant with gentle, even movements until no more streaks are visible.
8 Curing: Allow the sealant to cure completely (usually 7 days).
Aftercare
1. avoid any contact of the rims with water or moisture for the first 24 hours.
2. do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or high-pressure cleaners for the first 7 days after sealing. Instead, use lukewarm water and a mild shampoo for cleaning.
