Preparation through cleaning and corrections

For some surfaces, it may also be necessary to carry out a professional polish to remove scratches, swirls or holograms and achieve a smooth, even surface. It is particularly important to apply the sealer in thin, even layers to the cleaned surface and, depending on the product and ambient conditions, to give the material sufficient drying time to cure. Make sure to follow the instructions in the product data sheet exactly. If necessary, several coats can be applied to achieve the desired protection and gloss, observing the recommended drying times.
Aftercare
Intensive cleaning or scrubbing should be avoided in the week following application, as the sealant must harden completely in order to develop its optimum protective effect.
It is also important to use suitable cleaning products for regular maintenance of the material and to avoid aggressive cleaning agents that could damage the sealant.
How long does a ceramic coating / ceramic sealant last?
As the durability of ceramic coatings / ceramic sealants depends on various factors, it is not possible to give a blanket answer to this question; in general, the duration of the sealing effect depends on these parameters:
- Quality – high-quality sealants from the experts, such as those from Nano-Care®, have a longer service life and protective effect than other sealants thanks to optimum ingredients and a composition tailored to the material.
- Correct application – careful material preparation and an even and complete application of the sealing solution also play a major role in the durability of the sealant; only ceramic coating / ceramic sealants that are applied as a whole on a thoroughly cleaned or, if necessary, polished surface will develop their maximum effect. You should also ensure that the drying times and all other specifications in the product data sheet are adhered to in order to benefit from the result in the long term.
- Load intensity – how the sealed material is used and what weather conditions it is exposed to also play a major role in how long it lasts. The more stress the product is subjected to, the faster the ceramic coating / ceramic sealant can wear off.
