Why do you need textile impregnation?
One of the most important reasons why impregnation solutions are particularly important for textiles is that they can significantly increase the service life of the respective material and you benefit from a long-lasting use of the product/material.
This applies, for example, to sunshades, tents, awnings, sun sails or even convertible tops, which are constantly exposed to external environmental influences such as rain, UV radiation or even deposits and soiling in daily use.
Textile impregnation intensively reinforces the often short-lasting factory protection, which not only provides the material with long-lasting protection, but also makes it much easier to clean without losing the breathability of the textile.
The invisible protective layer of the textile impregnation protects the fibers of the material for a long time, both outdoors and indoors.
Our products
Nano-Care® offers versatile solutions for the impregnation of textiles that are optimally tailored to the various areas of application. Depending on the material and area of application, you will find a list of the most relevant product ranges and their properties below.
Nanoflex® Tex 2 & Nanoflex® Tex 4
Nanoflex® Tex 2 and Nanoflex® Tex 4 as all-rounders for textiles in uncomplicated self-application: The differences in this product range lie in the respective proportions of active components. The water-based spray-on products provide effective protection against dirt, water and oil and are particularly easy to use, making them ideal for the consumer and retail sectors.
Provided the material does not contain any surface-active substances such as silicones or surfactants, commercially available textiles such as carpets or curtains can be protected with the impregnation solutions without any problems.
In addition, Nanoflex® Tex 2 and Nanoflex® Tex 4 work particularly well on highly absorbent textile substrates such as upholstery, furniture, suede and Alcantara. The product range is Ökotex-certified (ECO-Passport), UV-stable and does not migrate.
Thanks to the intelligent arrangement of hybrid (organic and inorganic) structures, Nanoflex® Tex 2 and Nanoflex® Tex 4 are part of the INTELLIGENT HYBRIDS® concept from Nano-Care® Deutschland AG. They offer an invisible impregnation that reliably protects textiles from various influences without changing their natural texture. See relevant product specifications below.

Application of Nanoflex® Tex 2 and Nanoflex® Tex 4
To achieve optimum results when applying the coating solution, the material should be free of anionic, surface-active residues. Silicones or surfactants impair the effect and adhesion, which is why Nanoflex® Tex 2 and Nanoflex® Tex 4 should not be used here.
Application is extremely straightforward by spraying using a commercially available pump spray system. Above all, it is important to spray the material evenly and completely with the impregnation solution. In addition, a paint roller can help to work the impregnation into the material to be coated if the impregnation is not absorbed immediately.
The material should also be given sufficient time to dry. The coating usually needs around 24 hours to fully cure at room temperature and only then does it develop its optimum effect. In addition to impregnation / waterproofing / proofing by spray application, other methods known in the textile industry, such as padding or padding application, can also be used for coating.
In these professional impregnation processes, the material is evenly coated through complete immersion and additional rolling.
Nanoflex® L-Care
Nanoflex® L-Care is a fluorine-free, water-based spray-on product designed for the impregnation / waterproofing / proofing of leather materials. It achieves high dirt and water-repellent effects. As with the other Nanoflex® solutions, the spray-on application is extremely simple and can therefore also be used at home.
Nanoflex® L-Care provides excellent protection and care for smooth leather in particular. In addition, most commercially available textiles, carpets, upholstery and curtains can be treated, provided they are free from surface-active substances (silicones/surfactants).
Nanoflex® L-Care is part of the INTELLIGENT HYBRIDS® concept from Nano-Care® Deutschland AG thanks to the intelligent arrangement of hybrid structures (silicon dioxide/wax).

Application of Nanoflex® L-Care
Identical to the other Nanoflex® products, Nanoflex®- L-Care is also applied to the material using commercially available pump spray systems. Particularly when applied to smooth leather, the material may not absorb the liquid immediately. In this case, we recommend rubbing the impregnation / waterproofing / proofing into the material using light polishing movements.
The finishing material must be free of anionic, surface-active residues. Silicones or surfactants impair the effect and adhesion. We are happy to provide technical support with regard to pre-cleaning. The product may change after a longer standing time (e.g. creaming, sedimentation, separation). Stir or shake thoroughly before use!
The system can be used in all Ökotex classes (APEO/formaldehyde-free). Nanoflex® L-Care is a ready-mix and is not available as a concentrate. The product is water-based and not dangerous goods according to ADR and IATA.
Nanoflex® zero NMR
Nanoflex® zero NMR can be used as a water and dirt repellent additive on any type of surface. The product is free of fluorocarbons and impresses with its very good ecological profile and remarkable performance, making it suitable for use in the household, in car detailing or in textile finishing.

Application of Nanoflex® zero NMR
Nanoflex® zero NMR is a PFAS-free and versatile sealing solution that can be used as a spray or wash-in impregnation for textiles, tents, convertible tops and leather. The washable impregnation / waterproofing / proofing is also particularly suitable for outdoor and motorcycle clothing.

Textile impregnation / waterproofing / proofing for your convertible
One of the most popular areas of application for our textile impregnations are the fabric roofs of convertibles. The color-fast impregnation has a water and dirt-repellent effect, which means that your textile convertible roof has a noticeably longer service life. It is advisable to refresh the impregnation before the start and end of the season in order to maintain the optimum effect of the impregnation and to protect the convertible roof in the long term.
Textile impregnation / waterproofing / proofing for home and garden
Another popular area of application for our impregnation solutions for textiles is in the home and garden textiles sector. The fibers and textile fabrics of gazebos, sunshades, folding chairs or outdoor textile furniture are optimally protected against external influences and unwanted deposits, giving them a long-lasting, as-new look. In addition, the water-repellent properties of the impregnation ensure quick use and significantly simplified cleaning after rainfall.
Impregnating agent for indoor use
In addition to the outdoor application of our textile impregnations, our coating solutions are also popular for indoor use on upholstery, sofas, armchairs and cushions. This makes the textiles significantly less susceptible to dirt and color deposits from normal use, and liquids are also less likely to penetrate the fabric, preventing stubborn stains. As our products are also suitable for leather, they offer additional protection for leather sofas or seats in your car, for example.
Instructions for DIY application
To ensure that your textiles and shoes are optimally protected, you should follow the instructions below for the simple application of our textile impregnations in three steps:
Step 1 – Preparing the textile
Before applying the impregnation, you should clean the material thoroughly to remove dust, dirt and stains. Make sure that the textile is completely dry before applying the impregnation to achieve an optimal effect. Therefore, allow wet textiles to dry completely in the air or in the dryer before proceeding with impregnation.
Step 2 – Applying the impregnation / waterproofing / proofing
The impregnation is applied by spraying or washing in the impregnation solutions. It is particularly important that the impregnation is applied evenly and completely to the material to be coated. The entire surface of the material should be evenly wetted with the coating at a distance of around 30 cm from the textile; take care not to forget or omit any areas. When applying by washing in, the movement of the washing drum ensures an even coating.
Particularly absorbent areas of the material, such as those made of cotton or fleece, should be impregnated a second time for optimum protection.
Step 3 – Drying
The coated material only achieves full protection of the impregnation after complete drying/exposure. The drying time may vary depending on the absorbency of the respective material, although at least 24 hours at room temperature should always be expected for complete curing.
Further important notes on use
Do without a high-pressure cleaner
so as not to destroy the impregnation / waterproofing / proofing and thus render the protection ineffective.
Test in an inconspicuous place
Check the impregnation on a hidden area of the textile for possible discoloration or stains before applying it to a large area.
Suitable product selection
Use products tailored to the material (e.g. Nanoflex® L-Care should be used on leather).
Avoid contact with impregnating liquid
Avoid direct contact between the not yet hardened impregnation with eyes and skin. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water and wash off with soap and water in case of skin contact. After curing
Safe storage
Store the impregnation / waterproofing / proofing in a dry place and out of the reach of children.
Is inhaling textile impregnation toxic?
In general, our products are harmless to health due to their formulation. Irrespective of this, we recommend that you take care not to inhale the vapors when spraying.
