Application of our nano-sealing Nanoflex® zero NMR for your own use

In order to achieve the optimum effect of our nano-sealing / nano-sealant Nanoflex ® zero NMR, including self-application, it is particularly important to prepare and apply the sealing solution meticulously. In the following, we would like to explain to you in detail how the application should be carried out in the best possible way.

1. thorough preparation

Thorough preparation of the surface before applying the nano-sealing / nano-sealant is at least as important as the actual application of the sealing solution.

To do this, the desired surface should first be separated from other surfaces that are potentially not to be sealed. To do this, remove the part of the boat to be sealed or thoroughly mask off the surrounding surface parts that are not to be sealed.

The surface to be sealed must then be meticulously cleaned. Not only should the surface be cleaned of all impurities, but all oil and grease residues should also be removed.

After basic cleaning, the surface should be rinsed again with clear water before applying the nano-sealing / nano-sealant and given the necessary time to dry completely. After drying, we recommend starting the sealing process immediately to avoid the risk of re-soiling the surface.

2. application/application

Before applying the nano-sealing / nano-sealant to the entire surface, it is advisable to test it on a small sample part. The sealer should be applied sparingly in small stages to approx. 50×50 cm areas, either by rubbing or spraying. We recommend applying approx. 10 to 25 ml of sealer solution per square meter of boat surface.

Depending on the existing humidity, the drying and hardening of the surface can take different amounts of time, but at least 24 hours should be allowed for this. The material should only be polished once it has fully cured.

The beading effect (lotus effect) takes full effect no later than 24 hours after polishing. A successfully applied nano-sealing / nano-sealant can be recognized by the fact that water reacts to form beads on the entire surface; as soon as this is no longer the case, it is recommended to refresh the surface by repeating this process.

  • Ideal for processing: temperature between +5°C and +25°C
  • Note weather conditions: Do not use at temperatures below +5°C
  • Recommended application quantity: approx. 10 to 25 ml per square meter
  • Drying time: between 60 and 120 minutes at an ambient temperature of +20°
  • Curing time: 24 hours at an ambient temperature of +20°C
  • Storage and shelf life: Store according to label information, tightly closed and out of sunlight/frost

Treatment of scratched GRP surfaces

The application of our nano-sealing / nano-sealant Nanoflex® zero NMR is also recommended for the treatment of GRP surfaces damaged by scratches. The first step is to thoroughly clean the scratched surface, preferably with desalinated and distilled water. As soon as the surface has been freed of all dirt, oil and grease residues, fine sanding polishing is carried out to prepare the material for the nano-protective coating to be applied. After applying the sealant evenly by rubbing or spraying, the material should be given sufficient time to dry.

This process can remove scratches on GRP surfaces and restore their shine. After our nano-sealing / nano-sealant treatment, you also benefit from long-lasting protection of the finished surface.
