Nanoflex® Infusion

Nanoflex® Infusion is an advanced sealing solution for long-lasting protection of mineral substrates such as stone, concrete or terracotta. In contrast to conventional sealers, this surface sealer penetrates deep into the material and forms a breathable, robust protective layer that also impresses with the following advantages:

  • Waterproof – effectively protects against moisture damage, mold and efflorescence. Ideal for basements, foundations and exterior walls.
  • Breathable – the 3D network allows water vapor to escape, prevents waterlogging and maintains the natural moisture regulation of the material.
  • High load-bearing capacity – temperature-resistant up to 250°C, resistant to chemicals and weathering and resistant to salt water.
  • Certification – complies with DIN EN 1504-2 standards.

Exemplary areas of application: Basements, foundations, exterior walls, terraces, monuments, coastal areas.

Application: Applied by flooding, water-stable after 24 hours, fully cured after 5 days.

Nanoflex® Barrier

Nanoflex® Barrier permanently protects mineral surfaces such as facades, stone and concrete as well as treated metals and wood against graffiti, dirt and environmental pollution. With innovative technology, this product offers highly effective protection with the following impressive properties:

  • Long-term anti-graffiti protection – Keeps graffiti and other unwanted markings at bay and allows easy removal with water.
  • Resistant to weathering – Excellent protection against sunlight, rain and extreme temperature fluctuations.
  • Hydrophobic and breathable – Reduces moisture absorption while maintaining the breathability of the surface.
  • Environmentally friendly and safe – Contains no environmentally harmful PFAS, based on an organosilicon active ingredient composition.
  • Easy application – Easy application with a one-component solution that cures at room temperature under ambient humidity.
  • Long-lasting color depth – Intensifies and preserves the natural coloring of the treated surfaces.

Application examples: Suitable for building surfaces, monuments, painted wood and metal elements and other porous materials. Particularly effective for urban environments to improve aesthetics and cleanliness.

Technology: Nanoflex® Barrier uses modern nanotechnology that forms an invisible but durable protective layer. The surfaces remain functional, aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean.

Nanoflex® AG 1-4

Nanoflex® AG 1-4 offers an invisible protective layer for mineral and absorbent surfaces such as stone, concrete or terracotta, which keeps your facades, terraces or monuments looking like new for up to 10 years and also has the following advantages:

  • Long-lasting protection – up to a decade against dirt, fouling and weathering.
  • High dirt resistance – reduces soiling by up to 95%.
  • Effective fouling protection – prevents up to 98% fouling by mosses, lichens and fungi.
  • Frost resistance – increases resistance to frost and de-icing agents.
  • Breathable – protects against moisture and maintains natural breathability.
  • Easy to clean – dirt and deposits can be easily removed.
  • Invisible – preserves the natural look of the surface.

Exemplary areas of application: Facades, terraces, monuments, natural stone masonry, gravestones, sidewalks.

Application: The liquid is applied using a pump spray system. If the substrate does not absorb the liquid immediately, a paint roller can be used. The surface is water-stable after 6 hours and fully cured after 24 hours.

Protective measures for buildings and monuments: nano sealants and epoxy resin

As buildings and monuments are usually exposed to external weather conditions without protection, mineral and porous surfaces such as stone, concrete, clinker and terracotta should be well protected. Rainwater can erode the material, causing cracks and flaking, especially if it freezes and thaws due to frost. Acid rain also attacks the surface and further weakens the structure of the material. To counteract these influences, there are two common protection methods – epoxy resin and SiO2-based nano-sealants. A comparison of the two coating solutions will help you decide on the right process:

Epoxy resin

SiO2-based nano-sealing

Material

Two-component resin

Silicon dioxide (SiO2)

Application

is sprayed on, forms a closed surface

Penetrates deep into the pores, forms an invisible barrier

Optics

glossy, surface darkens slightly

Maintains a natural look

UV resistance

sensitive, becomes cracked and cloudy when exposed to sunlight

UV-resistant

Breathability

not breathable

Breathable, moisture can escape

Field of application

Mainly indoor use, concrete sealing

Exterior and interior, facades, mineral surfaces

Durability

can crack quickly when exposed to UV radiation

Long-term protection against water, dirt and fouling

Redevelopability

Difficult to renovate, can damage building fabric

Easy maintenance, long-lasting protection

This form of sealing is particularly interesting for use on monuments and historical buildings due to the long durability of nano-sealing solutions of up to 10 years.

Application of nano sealants for buildings and monuments

Thorough preparation and professional application are essential for the Nano-Care® nano sealant to work optimally. In the following steps, you will learn how to apply and maintain the nano sealant correctly in order to achieve optimum results.

Thorough cleaning

Thorough preparation of the surface is crucial for the success of the nano sealing of buildings and monuments. First of all, all surfaces that are not to be sealed should be carefully masked. The surface to be sealed must then be cleaned of all dirt such as moss, lichen, old paint or residue from a previous sealant. This can be done either with a high-pressure cleaner or by dry ice blasting by experts. Once the surface has been completely cleaned, it should be allowed to dry thoroughly to ensure that no moisture is trapped in the material during sealing, as this could lead to mold growth later on.

Application

Before applying the nano sealant to a large area, it is advisable to test the solution on a small area first in order to detect any changes in the material. Depending on the product specifications, the sealing solution is diluted and applied as a well-saturated layer. Use a spray gun, roller or brush and work in small sections to ensure that all areas are treated evenly and completely. It is also important to give the sealer enough time to dry to achieve the maximum effect. Drying time varies depending on the environment and product, so follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the product sheet.

Aftercare

To maintain the effectiveness of the nano sealant in the long term, it is important to clean the building or monument regularly. Depending on the degree of soiling, this should be done at intervals of a few months to once a year; the sealant may also need to be refreshed if you notice that the water-repellent properties of the sealant diminish after cleaning.

The multi-layered sealing solutions from Nano-Care® impress with their long durability and optimum material coordination as well as our global promise of effectiveness:

How long does a nano seal last on mineral and porous surfaces?

Nano-sealing on mineral and porous surfaces offers impressive durability, which can last up to 10 years depending on environmental influences and use. Compared to epoxy resin, which is a different type of protective technology, the nano sealant impresses with its specific properties and long-lasting protective effect, which comes into its own under the right conditions. In order to achieve this optimum duration of effect, it is important to follow the steps for correct material preparation, application and post-treatment as well as all other information in the product data sheet.
